Here are two charts to get a quick look at the performances US stock market indices, Dow Jones, NASDAQ composite and S&P 500, during the first four months in 2022, from the beginning of the year to the end of April.

Since the beginning of the year, all three major US Market index returns have been in the negative, i.e. if you had invested a Dollar in any of the three indices, the value at anytime this year has been less a dollar. NASDAQ composite has been hit the worst with its returns dropping below 20% two times.
